JR's Blog Introduction

Being a bird keeper / breeder is full of extreme highs as well as some disappointments. We all have to choose methods of raising our bird that work for us. The choices we make often are influenced by research and advice form other keepers and breeders.

I hope by viewing this Blog, you might find some useful information that will help you making more informed choices. I am always happy to share information on how I look after my birds.

The journey is filled with discovery and lessons that can be shared. This is what I intend to do with this bit of self indulgence.

Feel free to visit my website to view more info. JR's Website

Today I tried to give my Blue Quakers a bit of incentive to not build a new nest in the corner of the suspended Aviary. Some background..... they had 5 eggs eaten by a carpet snake, so I switched flights with my Blue / Green Quakers.

So.... I put another box in the flight to give them a choice. We will see how they go.

I received my new Solar Snake repellers. These are the Beez kneez so we will see how they go.

On a high note I discovered a second egg in one of the galah's boxes. Will they be fertile ?  Time will tell. :)
