Floyd the Galah chick is doing well and is 20 days old today. How quickly time passes.
I have taken him out of the brooder and placed him in a cage where he can see and hear the other birds. He still has his container and gum leaves. The temperature is 31c in the room so is a good transition.
Please Note: This chick has been sold.
The Masked lovebirds are now sitting on eggs. The Hen is in the box or building the nest so I won't disturb them more than necessary.
This Blog follows my journey as a hobbyist bird keeper / breeder. We currently have breeding pairs of: Eastern Galahs, Sulphur Crested Cockatoos, Australian King Parrots, Alexandrine Parrots, Masked Lovebirds and Quaker Parrots. For more information visit my website ...http://johnrmcdougall.com/

Galah, Lovebirds
The Galah chick is growing at a very fast rate. What a difference to raising Lovebirds LOL.
He is 12 days old today and his eyes are opening.
I have a stainless steel leg band being made, so he is not thought to be wild caught. He will be DNA'd for sex and PBFD (Beak and Feather ) and all being well offered for sale.
The Masked Lovebirds are busy in the box, so I expect there will be eggs soon.
The Blue Quaker's 2 eggs were clear. Before I had the chance to remove them they disappeared. The parents are still in breeding mode so watch this space. The Green / Blue pair might just surprise me, let's hope so.
